You haven’t visited Morocco until you set foot in the Sahara Desert, and the best way is by visiting the Merzouga Desert.

The route consists of 3 days and two nights where we can enjoy landscapes of great beauty.
We will depart from Marrakech to drive to the High Atlas and visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the Atlas Studios, the Taourirt Kasbah, the Valley of Roses, and the Dades Valley.
We will sleep in the Dades Valley, and on the second day, we will reach the Todra Valley with its gorges, visit the fossils of Erfoud, and arrive at the Merzouga Desert to enjoy its sunset.

Photography enthusiasts will enjoy capturing the best moments of the desert.

The next morning, we will wake up early again, but this time to see the sunrise.
We will once again enjoy the beauty of the morning twilight in the desert.

After a good breakfast, we will head back to Marrakech via the Daraa Valley.

We will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon where we will drop you off at your accommodation or the airport, hoping you will leave with the desire to return soon to explore more of Morocco.

Have you ever felt the unmistakable aroma of spices floating in the air, guiding you through narrow streets to mysterious markets? Imagine walking through the winding streets of Marrakech. Every corner reveals an explosion of colors and smells. Vendors proudly display their piles of turmeric, paprika, cumin, and saffron. It’s not just a trip to Morocco; it’s an experience for the senses. You’ll discover culinary secrets, learn about the rich history of spices in Morocco, and take home flavors that will transform your cooking. Imagine preparing an authentic Moroccan tagine with spices you personally selected in the souks of Marrakech.

Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Atlas Studio - Taourirt Kasbah - Valley of the Roses - Dades Valley

Pickup will be in Marrakech at the airport, at the Riad, or at a meeting point agreed with the agency, and from there, we will head from Marrakech towards the High Atlas. We will cross the Tizi N’tichka pass which reaches 2260m, making stops at panoramic views and Berber villages before continuing our journey to Ait Ben Haddou to visit the famous Kasbah of the same name, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where famous movies such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, Lawrence of Arabia, The Jewel of the Nile, and many others were filmed. We will continue to the city of Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert and the Moroccan Hollywood, where we can visit the film studios if you are interested. Later, we will continue our journey to the Valley of the Roses where roses are grown to produce various cosmetic and perfume products. We will end the day in the Dades Valley where we will have dinner and spend the night in a hotel next to the Dades river.

Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Valley - Todra Gorges - Erfoud Fossils - Merzouga Desert

After a rich Moroccan breakfast, we leave the Dades Valley heading towards the Todra Valley where the magnificent Todra Gorges with a height of 300m next to the river and a palm oasis are located. It is very common to find street vendors offering you djellabas, which is a traditional Moroccan wide and hooded robe worn by Berbers and Arabs. We continue our route towards Erfoud known for its rich fossil deposits and often referred to as the “Fossil Capital of the World”. And we reach our destination! The Sahara of Merzouga. There, the dromedaries await to take us through the dunes while the sun sets, until we reach the tent camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Prepare your cameras because you won’t be able to stop taking thousands of photos. Once the sunset is over, we will enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner and later, before going to sleep, we will share with the Berbers their traditional festival with songs and drum music all under a beautiful starry sky. We will sleep in a fully equipped tent. Note that depending on the time of year, when the day is shorter, the route may vary to ensure we arrive in time to enjoy the wonderful sunset in the desert.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert - Erissani Market - Daraa Valley - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

After a wonderful night in the desert, we head back towards Marrakech, passing through the city of Rissani, an important city in the trans-Saharan trade routes from the 8th to the 14th century. We will visit its significant traditional market which is particularly famous for its donkey parking lot, where traders and locals still use donkeys as a means of transport. Later, we will continue our journey towards the Daraa Valley, one of the longest valleys in Morocco and a must-see stop to admire the detailed landscape. Finally, we will cross the High Atlas again with its beautiful landscapes. We will arrive in Marrakech around 8:00 PM, and we will drop you off at your accommodation or the airport, and here we bid farewell until next time, as one always returns to Morocco.
